Alpine Passes

Photographs from the two series and books “Alpine Passes” and “Passbilder”, exploring the landscapes and history of the most significant Alpine crossings.

Crossing the Alps is a key part of Alpine history. For many years, I have been exploring the landscapes and history of Alpine passes through my photography. Each pass is shaped by the topography of the Alps, has a distinctive character and its own history. I try to bring this to life through my photographs.

The prints are extremely detailed, and the wonderful baryta paper is ideal for reproducing these subtleties. The ideal print size for standard rooms is between 75 cm and 100 cm in height, with a corresponding width. The versions in shadow-gap frames and on Aludibond are highly recommended.
